6 Life Changing Books to Read
Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu
By far the easiest and simplest book to comprehend. I personally enjoy the Stephen Mitchell translation. With only 102 pages, each passage is crafted perfectly to expand the way you live. This book completely shifted everything in my life. I personally listen to this free audio book pretty much every morning. No exaggeration. I promise every time I listen to it, I learn something new. There’s really never an off time to listen to/read this book; whether I’m feeling grateful and happy or upset and frustrated, the Tao Te Ching is everything.
The Secret of the Golden Flower by Wang Chongyang
This book is also available as a free audio book on YouTube and it’s my switch up from the Tao Te Ching. It features many of the same principles of the Tao but at a higher level. The value of the breath is discussed so directly in this book that it is impossible to deny how powerful it is for eternal life. This book also helps with addressing posture, life challenges, as well as meditation guidelines. Think of it as the peace that’s necessary in this chaotic world we live in.
Tantra 2020 by R. BUDD
With only 13 pages, this book doesn’t sugarcoat the truth. Each sentence has so much strength! Sexual energy is creative energy and you are always creating your reality, therefore everything is sexual energy. This book discusses this concept thoroughly and precisely. I’ve recommended this one to everyone in my life because it’s so simple for anyone to understand and apply to their lives. It also shares breathing techniques to practice daily as well as herbal supplements to use for ultimate health.
Metu Neter by Ra Un Nefer Amen
Okay this one is probably one of the more ‘advanced’ books on this list. I actually plan to re-read this one because it is somewhat a lot to digest - it requires a lot of unlearning. Unlearning is ultimately learning and can be really uncomfortable at first because we’re so used to our thinking patterns and beliefs. Based on the Kamitic (ancient Egyptian) belief system, this book provides guidance to achieving supreme spirituality.
The summary on Amazon because I’m struggling to explain it right now: The oracles of Ancient Black Civilizations aimed to guide individuals and nations in all areas of life. Through them it was possible to discover the spiritual cause and meaning to earthly events. These great oracles prescribed the words of power and other occult forces that can be manipulated by the initiate in order to control the events of his life.
Celebration of Breath by Sondra Ray
Ya’ll. I read this book in one sitting! The ideas and concepts shared in this book were so intriguing to me I couldn’t even help it. Some of it might trigger some resistance within yourself because it again, requires some unlearning. For example, the idea that “all death is suicide” is discussed thoroughly in this book. Before you go judging and rejecting, what is the root of this resistance? (The next book I’m about to mention taught me to take notice of that.) There is an abundance of information on ‘rebirthing’ and how to heal through anything in your life. Oh and you guessed it, the power of the breath is obviously discussed in this book.
You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay
I could scream about this book for days. That’s how incredible it was to read. Personally I love how interactive it is, providing exercises to practice throughout the reading. I read it twice actually because it was so moving. There is an extensive list that provides bodily issues that you may be experiencing (literally from toothaches to stuffy nose to hip pain) and what the root cause of them actually is; everything is metaphysical before it becomes into the physical. So yes, the reason your ankles hurt, is actually a spiritual resistance.
But unlike a lot of these spiritual books out here, I like that there is no self-guilt felt while realizing your truths. The writer provides so many self love exercises and concepts that it automatically replaces that critic in your mind with a cheerleader.
