"So... What Do You Do?"

Alright, I’m going to attempt to answer this overly asked question without as much as sass as possible but no promises. I’ve never been the one to message someone and ask them “what do you do & how much money do you make?” so it blows my mind that people message me that often. Yes I share my life online but that doesn’t mean ya’ll get access to every little detail. Maybe you should think about why you have time to DM me and ask me what I’m doing and question what you’re doing. Okay sass over, I promise.

In all honesty though, I no longer look at life the way most Americans do. There’s no “end goal” or “something I want to be”. Peace is the new success. Period.

But if you must know, sure let’s break it down:

  1. YouTube Content Creator

Yepp, I’m full time CBUDD. I create videos online on various topics from holistic health to travel vlogs to stylish look books. Do I make a lot of money from YouTube? No. Plot twist everyone, YouTube doesn’t really pay anybody that much. They take a huge portion of your earnings that you make from the ads that are put onto your videos. Even some of the biggest YouTubers you watch, aren’t making money from that platform.

The dollah bills come in from sponsored collaborations. This can happen on Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc. Working with brands is the root of the funds. I personally only choose to work with brands that I already love or have always admired. Some of the brands I’ve had the pleasure of working with include: Express, GoRaw, Get Maude, True Botanicals, and the list goes on.

  2. Photographer

I’ve been a photographer for over 10 years. Photography is what started this love affair with the camera. Occasionally I still shoot for clients or work random gigs found online. I often find gigs via word of mouth, Craigslist, or UpWork.

  3. Social Media Manager

This has been something that just kind of found me honestly. I guess I’m kind of good at this social media thing and others took note of that. I work with a few clients currently on managing their Instagrams and photographing their products/services. For whatever reason, I really enjoy this because it feels like art to me. I have fun with designing the theme of the IG or the content calendar.

  4. Patreon

This is a new addition to my life and I really don’t make much from it right now but I figured I’d throw it in here. Patreon is basically a platform to receive exclusive membership based content from freelancers/online creators. I have services like one-on-one webinar breath sessions, personal Q&A access, and mentorship. I even have just simply $4 monthly donations because every little bit counts friends. I’m a one woman show and it’s way more than you think it is.

  5. Breathwork Sessions

Other than my online breathwork sessions I share via Patreon, for my folks in Atlanta I offer one-on-one and group breath sessions. I have an Airbnb experience where you can book your spot. This has been one of my favorite things to do lately because I get to have a deeper connection with others and share the gift of the breath with them. I typically host these on Saturday mornings for my group sessions. For one-on-one, feel free to message me and arrange a time that fits best.

  6. Hustle Like I’m Ugly

Listen to this song to really get inspired. But for real, I hustle. I’ve worked as a brand ambassador at trade shows, I’ve sold clothes on Poshmark, I’ve even considered being a dog walker (the whole nanny thing ain’t for me). If there’s a lucrative way to make some money that I am capable of figuring out, sure, I’ll try it. As an entrepreneur, it’s all about trial and error. I’ve learned to not stretch myself too thin these days, but I definitely am a hustler.
