This is an amazing introduction to breathwork! It is very informative and well explained by Casey with many useful links to dig a little deeper. I often buy online courses, but rarely finish them.. however not with this one! It is structured really well and builds up the skill level and provides 4 full breath sessions at the end. Casey’s voice is very gentle and good to follow. Unlike other instructors you don’t feel rushed or disturbed by the voiceover. Within only a few days of doing this course, I’ve noticed significant changes as a result (increased energy, reduced anxiety and appetite, etc.). There is a reason why I take a full hour out of my day to dedicate to deep breaths, and why I chose to build a whole career to help other people do the same.

In my opinion, breathwork is the hidden gem of healing. I mean, I understand you’re no stranger to breathing. How can something be hidden if you’ve been doing it since you were born? The truth is, most of us live in a slight hyperventilative state of over-inhaling. Our breaths are shallow. We hold our breaths as we’re going about our day.. We breathe through our mouths. We coexist with a mountain of tension in our belly and chest. If you are not breathing properly, your nervous system can’t regulate. If you can’t regulate, you can’t heal.

How ironic - the most powerful tool to achieve well-being is hiding right under our noses.

If you look at a toddler or a baby, you will notice they are fully breathing from their bellies, which is the healthiest way to breathe. They are shamelessly in their full expression. As we grow up, traumatic experiences happen that often sit unprocessed in our bodies. This accumulation of unhealed negative experiences conditions our nervous systems into sympathetic overdrive (fight-or-flight). When we are in such a state, we exist in a shallow breathing cycle of 18 or more breaths a minute. This is most of us. Your body is likely in a stressful processing state and you may not even be aware of it.

Being aware of your breath is being aware of your spirit. I dare you to google the definition of ‘spirit’ right now. It literally translates to breath. As does the word ‘inspire’.  If breath is the movement of spirit in the body - a central mystery that connects us all to creation - then working with the breath should be the base of all spiritual practices. 

Where our breath is, is ultimately where our being is and our expression lives. Taking a breath was the very first thing we did when we were born. Imagine if you tapped into this monumental subconscious energy? 

Giving gratitude to this vital life force energy (prana, air, energy, etc) puts you in alignment with yourself and the universe. As you live in this state of gratitude and abundance of breath, you will become a better match to receive the blessings of the universe.

Why I Created This Challenge

I’m often asked, “what does your breathwork routine look like?”

After years of trial and error, I have found a sequence of techniques, intervals and holds that work like magic and have allowed my mind and body to stay balanced as I go about my day.

Although it doesn’t look the exact same every single day, my 60 minute morning breathwork session is always some sort of combination of the elements I’m teaching you in this course. The reason why I haven’t shared it anywhere else is that this isn’t exactly a beginner routine, and if you jump into this 60 minute session without guidance and proper support, you may find it overwhelming and give up on breathwork altogether (which would be tragic!).

I created this challenge to be a gentle progression that allows your body plenty of time to get used to deeper and longer breaths.

You will start with a 20 minute session, and by the end of the challenge you’ll be able to comfortably get through my full 60 minute routine and reap all the benefits of a guided hour-long session. If you’ve only done 15, 20 or even 30 minute breathwork sessions, you’re in for a treat!

Trust me, breathing for a longer period of time makes a world of difference. As someone who dedicates an hour daily to breathwork, when for some reason I’m forced to cut it short I feel a drastic contrast in my energy levels, clarity and mood. I’m confident you will as well.


 

What’s Included

  • 8 minute video in which I demonstrate the proper posture, techniques and body you’ll be using throughout the program

  • Two follow-along videos (around 20min each) demonstrating how to utilize healing sounds (aka mantras or chanting) during your exhale. You can choose either one to practice with.

    Each video has a set of 6 healing sounds, each with specific powerful benefits for your body and spirit.

  • A 35 min breathwork practice video that starts with the 6 healing sounds we learned in the previous lesson, followed by a demonstration on how to perform isolated nostril breathing.

  • A 40 min breathwork practice video where we do the healing sounds and isolated nostril breaths we learned in the previous lessons, followed by a demonstration on how to perform connected or continuous breaths.

  • A 56 min breathwork practice video where we do the healing sounds, isolated nostril and continuous breaths we learned in the previous lessons, followed by a demonstration on how to perform slow tummo breathing.

  • A full 48 minute breathwork session consisting of both sets of healing sounds + alternate nostril + continuous breaths + tummo breaths

  • A full 60+ minute breathwork session consisting of healing sounds + alternate nostril + continuous breaths + tummo breaths + breath to movement exercises.

  • A full 60 minute breathwork session consisting of healing sounds + alternate nostril + continuous breaths + tummo breaths + breath stretch + a few other simple techniques!

Did You Know?

  • One good 60 minute breathwork session can equal a year of talk therapy. Healing primarily with your mind will only take you so far. Although it can be beneficial to understand intellectually where your trauma comes from, the way to heal it is through the body. You need to feel your way through your unprocessed emotions and release them. There is no safer, more effective way to do this than through the breath. Breathwork bypasses your thinking mind and directly activates the places in your body where energy isn’t flowing. You may realize as you go through this course that emotions arise or tensions move within the body. This is a part of healing! It allows deeply buried feelings and issues to come to the surface in a healthy way.

  • The diaphragm is the biggest muscle in the body. Most of us barely even breathe from our full lung capacity or tap into the lower lungs where most of the blood in the lungs is stored.

  •  70% of our body’s toxins are removed through the lungs. I know we often think of elimination as using the restroom but the truth is that’s just one of many of the body’s drainage pathways. Most detoxing happens through our breathing! As you detox, you may notice some a decrease in inflammation, which can lead to weight loss and an improvement in health issues.

  • 15 minutes of breathwork equates to an hour of running! That’s right, you can detoxify the body the same way you would running on a treadmill with the techniques practiced in this course. I’ve often heard students express, “this feels like a workout!” and that’s because it essentially is!

  • I pride myself in sharing a substantial amount of free content because I am deeply passionate about breathwork as a tool for healing, and I want to make it as accessible as possible to people who want to make their lives better.

    Most of the videos on my Youtube channel are 15-minute-or-less pick-me-ups. In contrast, the series available here consists of longer videos that gradually lead to three full 60-minute sessions. These seven classes are thoughtfully designed to work together cohesively and progress in a structured manner. This is the only place (besides my 1:1 sessions) where I share my personal 1 hour breathwork routine.
