Woah. Has it really been over a month since I’ve written on here?

Well in the month of April I did take a little internet hiatus, so we’ll use that excuse.

Anyway, I wanted to share my healing journey process and where I’m currently at mentally. And when I say healing, it’s not just from my break up earlier this year. Healing is a never ending journey. I’m forever unlearning from generations before me. Infinity exists!

BIKING

So the best investment I think I’ve made this year was buying a bicycle. Last weekend I spontaneously decided to just do it already. I am at this place in life where I’m so over ‘waiting until the time is right’ because I’m just so present. I woke up that Saturday morning and told myself that by the end of the day, I’d have my own bike.

She’s honestly the love of my life ya’ll. Biking was something I did here and there when I lived in Florida and I loved it because it was such a mindless exercise. I don’t have to overthink anything or count reps, I can just explore new places and get my body in motion. As I’m writing this… my quads are DEAD. It feels so good to be active again. I don’t think the gym is really my thing like it used to be. Nature feels a lot better.

NATURE + BREATHWORK + YOGA

Smooth transition into how much I LOVE NATURE. Nature gives so much! Next time you’re outside, close your eyes and just listen. This has been my favorite thing to do on a sunny day in the middle of a park. Just pause everything and be still and observe. It’s so rejuvenating to really feel how a part of the universe you really are. For me, it just totally wakes up my divine spirit. This along with doing breathwork in nature. Consciously breathing when you’re surrounded by trees has to be one of the best feelings ever. I can literally feel my light become brighter the more I breathe. And you know I’m still practicing my forearm stands and hand stands daily too. I’m getting so good! Yoga teaches me so much about myself every day.

MAKING PLAYLISTS + DANCING

Don’t act like you don’t have concerts in front of your mirror too! This has been like a weekly regimen for me honestly. Throw on some “Before I Let Go” by Beyonce and completely let loose. Moving your body is essential for health and well being. Get comfortable with your body and remember it’s just the vessel! Allow your spirit to guide it where it pleases. I’ve found myself in full on sweatiness after about an hour of dancing to a playlist of mine. It’s so releasing.

WRITING

This has always been a little escape for me. Even as a young girl, I had a buuunch of diaries. There’s something about putting the thought on paper that makes it feel less cluttered in my head. It’s another form of releasing that thought. Sometimes free flowing writing can really reveal things you didn’t know you were even thinking about. I write probably every day if I get the chance to, usually before bed. Sage lit, dim lighting, and cozy, just reflecting on the moment.

All in all, it’s been a process and I’m learning so much along the way. It’s exciting, it’s uncomfortable. But trusting in the now and trusting in the process of everything that happens in your day, really takes away a lot of the fear or worry most of us carry.

Just a quick blog post to catch you all up on what I’ve been spending my time doing lately. More to come soon, I promise.
